I definitely agree. If I had a list with 500 subscribers I would have absolutely no problem in paying for a service like AWeber. There is so much value there, why not leverage it the most that you can?

Hi chris,

it could be an excellent solution for expert users, but each time we update WP the customized files could be overwritten.

I think that lists with more than 500 users justify a little investment with some bucks for a professional tool.

I am very interested in the “Create a Free Email Newsletter Service using WordPress” link. I’m definitely going to check that one out.

I think that AWeber is really the way to go when it comes to mailing lists, or at least that’s what pretty much everyone has told me. I can’t justify it right now though, especially with the “steeper” price tag (compared to free).

I will check out the DIY version for sure though.
